BREEDERS' AND JUDGES' GUIDE TO THE CAMPINE STANDARDS
as published in the SECOND EDITION of THE AUSTRALIAN POULTRY STANDARDS (distributed June 2012)
This GUIDE which has been prepared by the members of the Campine Club of Australia is intended to complement the 2nd Edition of the Australian Poultry Standards. The purpose of the GUIDE is to ensure that the Campine Breed of Fowl is bred in Australia in a manner consistant with the intentions and practices that resulted in the development of the "hen feathered" English Campine in the early 1900's.
This was the TYPE of Campine imported into Australia providing the foundation of the pure bred Campines being kept, bred and exhibited in this Country 110 years later. In the absence of this GUIDE the Campine Club of Australia is concerned that there is great likelihood of a change in interpretation and breeding direction that would most likely result in the demise of the Campine TYPE as we know it.
It is the wish of THE CAMPINE CLUB OF AUSTRALIA that when Campine fowls are assessed, by poultry judges in Australia, they be judged in a manner that is consistant with our GUIDE.
Our Club is delighted to make this GUIDE available to breeders, judges, clubs or individuals without restriction in the interest of preserving the Campine in its' current TYPE.
