About Me

I am relatively new to Campines but have chosen them as one of the rare breeds that I want to maintain at my property in the Adelaide Hills.  My goal is to source some genetic variation from a few breeders and try to maintain a more genetically diverse stock.  I know that this will compromise my ability to breed very close to standard but I hope that I can build a good line and hopefully improve the egg productivity which has not been great so far.  My hope is that a more productive bird might provide an incentive for a few more people to keep this beautiful breed in their back yards.

Like colour and size. Mine are friendly and follow me around. They also brave as I found out last year when a snake was in their yard, They attacked it and drove it out.

About Me

I am a 4th generation Campine breeder from Curramulka in South Australia. I have kept the breed and shown myself for some 20 years (on and off with showing). I aim to breed birds as close to the standard as is possible, following the ground rules that have been handed down from my Great Gandfather Spen Twelftree. I one day hope to breed a Campine that is perfect. This is something that is very difficult as there are so many attributes to get correct, but something that keeps me motivate and passionate about the breed.

The near perfect Campine is a favoured target of my arch enemy Mr Fox.
